I travelled to many foreign European countries with my parents as a child. While travelling, I noticed that I am unable to make progress neither with my German, nor Polish language skills. Thus, paying attention to my English teacher became unavoidable. English was the key to the unknown worlds, which I was ready to enter. This evolved to a passion of mine.
This enthusiasm arised from my ambition, which eventually led me to the USA after my A-Levels. I moved from Germany to Virginia in order to work as an Au Pair, when I was 18 years old. I visited a school in Virginia, worked as an Au Pair, and travelled to New York, Chicago, Miami, New Jersey, South Carolina, Los Angeles and San Francisco – to mention a few. It was important to me to initiate dialogues with different people from various cultures. I learned about politics, culture and language itself.
These were my very first steps towards becoming a professional English teacher and translator. I successfully completed Translation Studies in English/Polish B.A., followed by a two-subject M.A. degree in English and American Studies, Slavonic Studies as well as eventually teaching studies. Today, I work as a teacher at a public school in Germany.
On my journey I have encountered extraordinary mentors, university lecturers, fellow students as well as friends who encouraged me to discover and to learn. I am grateful to have met every single one of them! I have always fulfilled my tasks with much joy.
I am living proof that if you put your mind to it and put in the work, crazy, wild things can happen.
